This is a farm where food culture is held in high esteem. We grow our own vegetables and root vegetables, we raise old country cows and pigs. Then we take care of all these wonderful raw materials and refine them into food, real food without artificial super-process with additives harmful to us.
We have a vision to teach the old cooking craft and the old methods, confident that one day they may be important to know again. In addition to being self-sufficient in food, we try to reach more people who get to taste what food can and should taste like. That's why we have a simple farm restaurant and also go out and serve at music festivals, yes we even have our own rock festival on the farm every year in the second half of July.
We farm on a small scale without poisons and fertilizers, as regeneratively as we can. We use our animals in our own household as well as in artisanal charcuterie of sausages and smoked products. We cut ourselves to take care of the whole animal.
We grow our need for vegetables, root crops, berries and fruit, which we use in the household and preserve with various methods such as fermentation, hermenting, heat preservation, smoking, drying, pickling, freezing, winter storage underground, etc.
The farm also has dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, rabbits and retired horses.
In the summer we often have barbecue evenings for people in the area and then we often sing for and with them.
The operations on the farm are run cooperatively.
All our farming and cultivation is done with natural methods without poisons or artificial fertilisers.
Help needed with everything from gardening, animals, cooking, canning and whatever is needed at the moment.
You live in your own room as standard. Either in our main building or in one of the other two residential buildings, all rooms with good beds. We eat all meals together on weekdays, while weekends are spontaneous in when, how and what.
The farm is located in its own valley, one km from the nearest neighbor. The valley is located in a hilly terrain with large forests around and a couple of km to the nearest bathing lake.
We would love to exchange with you. We get your help and you get to learn about raw materials, food and processing. To get an overview, it is better that you stay longer than a few weeks. As we usually have international volunteers, we mostly speak English in the summer.
